The number of deaths in Ireland due to excessive heat or cold is due to rise, according to a major new study by the Lancet.

Around 30 people per year currently die from heat, and that could increase to 563.

While cold-related deaths are set to double to almost 7 thousand 700.

The increases are expected by 2100, if temperatures increase by three degrees.
